Michelle R. Gould
LMHC, NCC, BC-TMH
Hello! I'm Michelle - Em if you're partial to nicknames. I am a perpetual student. I study people. I study learning, communication, and technology. I study discovery and recovery. I study life skills and coping tools. I study self-improvement, self-awareness, self-esteem, self-actualization - all the self-stuff. On my Resource page, you will find some of my favorite articles, videos, books, and free online courses on these topics.
I have a B.A. in Social Psychology from Florida Atlantic University (1993), an M.S. in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern University (NSU, 2012), and an M.A. in composition, rhetoric, and digital media (CRDM) from NSU (2017). For my CRDM master’s thesis, I completed several chapters of a book titled, “How to Build a Brand on Social Media from the Freedom of Your Phone!” That thesis was based on my work managing several social media sites. If you are interested in hiring me to create content for your brand, please contact me with this form. To offset the cost of maintaining my social media sites, I offer products through two online stores: The Right from the Rooms Store features cards, calendars, mugs, journals, puzzles, magnets, and posters with some of the most popular and familiar phrases in the recovery lexicon. My Recovering Your Life Store features all of those items plus clothing and lifestyle items. Both stores constantly offer specials of 20-60% off, so please check them out when you need a gift or want to treat yourself.
I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida, a national certified counselor (NCC), and a board-certified telemental health provider (BC-TMH). I specialize in treating addiction recovery and co-occurring disorders. Other areas of interest include anxiety reduction, stress management, self-esteem, conscious living, spiritual development, personal growth, healthy relationships, empowerment, boundaries, chronic pain, disabilities, grief and loss, and gender issues. I do not provide counseling services through this site, nor should this site and the information on it be considered a substitute for therapy. Please see this disclaimer for more details about the limitations of this site and its agents.
I am currently working on my Ed.D. in instructional technology and distance education at NSU. To read more about my graduate school journey, please visit here.
